Usually, The summer months from May through September are the ideal times to travel to Alaska. It is the perfect time when daylight hours will be 16–24 hours, temperatures in the 60s to low 70s, blooming leaves and flowers, flowing rivers, and the best chance to see wildlife.  

When you look up various dates for your trip, you might come across these:-

August through June is peak season. It gets as warm as it gets around the middle of June. All summer activities are offered, including bus trips that start about May 15 along Denali Park Road. 

Moreover, May through September is the cruise season. Cruises on small ships depart as early as mid-April.

How Do I Get To Anchorage Alaska Without Flying?

It’s a considerable journey but offers breathtaking views and the opportunity to explore diverse landscapes.
  • Cruise:- Although less direct, a cruise to Alaska can be a leisurely way to arrive. Many cruise lines offer trips to Alaska with ports of call, including cities like Seward or Whittier, from which you can drive or take a bus to Anchorage.
